Harlingen VFW Post Shuts Down
HARLINGEN – A Veterans of Foreign Wars post in the Rio Grande Valley was shut down.
The doors were closed and locked since last Thursday, according to a note posted on the doors by the order of the Texas VFW State Commander.
CHANNEL 5 NEWS reached out to the State Commander’s office to find out why.
The State Adjutant Quartermaster Dan west sent us a statement that reads in part:
"The Post has been temporarily placed on suspension so that an internal VFW procedural matter can be properly addressed. Post officers are cooperating with the administrative team and we have the utmost faith that the matter will be resolved and the Post will reopen as soon as possible."
