WESLACO – Hundreds of employees are officially out of a job.

Shelters housing unaccompanied minors in the Rio Grande Valley officially closed on Easter Sunday.

The International Educational Services spokesperson, Robin Diane, tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS they let go of 300 employees.

There were eight shelter locations across the Valley.

IES started in 1988, housing thousands of children and providing foster care.
