EDINBURG - Rio Grande Valley families came together with law enforcement from across the state to honor fallen Trooper Moises Sanchez.
CHANNEL 5 NEWS spoke to some people who understand the sacrifice he made for his community.
The streets were filled with red and blue lights as State Trooper Moises Sanchez was guided by his brothers and sisters in arms.
Retired law enforcement officer Edward Rodriguez explains why this moment is so important for him.
“Law enforcement, forgotten soldiers you know we need to remember them because we fight a war all year long,” he says.
Edinburg Police Chief Cesar Torres agrees with Rodriguez .
“We are here for a reason, to combat crime and keep our community safe,” he says.
