San Juan Police Investigating Student Hit by Car Near Middle School
SAN JUAN – The San Juan Police Department is investigating an accident involving a middle school student.
Police Chief Juan Gonzalez confirms a 11-year-old child was hit by a car near Austin Middle School around 6:30 a.m. Friday.
The school is located on the 800 block of South Stewart Road in San Juan.
Gonzalez says the child failed to yield the right of way.
The child sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for additional examination.
Driver stopped to render aid.
The accident is still under investigation.
They were worried about the students who walk to the schools among heavy traffic in the area.
