Sugar Harvest to Soon Begin in RGV

SANTA ROSA – A sugar harvest is set to begin soon in the Rio Grande Valley.

Dale Kerstetter with Valley Sugar Growers Inc. in Santa Rosa says about 37,000 acres of sugar cane fields will be harvested starting next week.

He explains the recent rains have been beneficial for the crop.
