EDINBURG – One of the southbound lanes on 281 is now open.

The lane opening is expected to ease some congestion. 

Recent flooding caused the Texas Department of Transportation to close a portion of the highway north of Edinburg.

Spokesperson Octavio Saenz says the roadway is dry but they want to make sure the floodwater doesn’t return.
