Pharr, TX (KRGV) — An 18-year-old man was charged in connection with a deadly shooting in Pharr.

Rafael Garcia Jr. faced a judge on Friday and charged with first-degree murder and possession of marijuana. His bond was set at $1,050,000.

Garcia is accused of shooting and killing 26-year-old man in a family-related disturbance in Pharr on Thursday, Oct. 1.

The victim was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the abdomen in the 1200 block of E. Serenidad Drive. He was later pronounced dead.

Garcia was taken into custody without incident near E. Trenton Road and Interstate Highway 69C.
