MERCEDES – A cyclist who was hit by a vehicle in Mercedes died of his injuries.

The accident happened last Thursday on Mile 2 East between Expressway 83 and Business 83.

Police say the 19-year-old victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

He succumbed to his injuries Monday afternoon.

The driver who hit him did stop to render aid and is not facing charges.
