2 Charged in Fatal Pharr Shooting, 3rd Suspect Set to be Arraigned
UPDATE (12/18): One suspect involved in a deadly shooting in Pharr and who is currently recovering in a hospital has yet to be charged.
Twenty-year-old Jonathan Alcala was killed last Friday morning.
Three people were taken into custody the day of the shooting.
Twenty-year-old Santiago Alonso Aguirre and 26-year-old Omar Garcia were charged over the weekend.
Alonzo faces five charges including first-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence. Garcia's charged with murder, possession of a controlled substance and engaging in organized criminal activity.
The third suspect will not be charged until he is released.
PHARR – A 20-year-old is dead following a shooting in Pharr early Friday morning.
The Pharr Police Department responded to the 800 block of W. Coyote Trail around 1:30 a.m. Officers found Jonathan Alcala shot when they arrived.
Alcala later died from his injuries.
Three people were identified and are in custody. One is currently hospitalized and will be arraigned upon his release.
The others will be arraigned before the Pharr Municipal Court Friday afternoon.
