3 Arrests Made in McAllen Robberies

WESLACO – A man and two teenagers were arrested for their alleged involvement in some McAllen robberies.  

McAllen police said they’re all from Mexico.

The first robbery happened on Monday. Officers were called out to the 300 block of West Yucca regarding a robbery of a vehicle.

A woman told police a man approached her, displaying a gun and demanding her vehicle.

On Wednesday, officers responded to a similar situation at the 800 block of West Robin.

The victim told officers three men approached her, displayed a handgun and stole her vehicle.

McAllen police arrested 29-year-old Jorge Luis Almanza on Thursday. They said he was the suspect in both robberies.

Almanza is facing two charges of aggravated robbery. Police said he is a deported felon.

Police also said a 15- and 16-year-old from Mexico were arrested and are being held at the juvenile detention center.
