Brownsville church members concerned about ongoing vandalism

Volunteers came together in Brownsville to help clean up after vandals targeted a church over the weekend.

Pastor Marlon Wallace, the owner of Brownsville Seventh-Day Adventist Church, says he's dealt with some graffiti in the past but nothing like what he saw on Saturday.

With the help of volunteers and a local car wash, Wallace says the graffiti left on a church wall has washed away.

"We have had people just trying to break into the church and robbing some things from the church," he said. "But this type of expression of hatred— this is the first time."

The Brownsville Police Department is investigating what some members of the community are calling a hate crime.
