BROWNSVILLE – If you’re planning on taking Christmas gifts to loved ones across the border, be sure the gifts follow Customs and Border Protection guidelines.

It’s all part of the agency’s “Know Before You Go” initiative. CBP wants travelers to know they’ll have to “declare their gifts” when entering any port of entry.

Along with the increase in traffic, officers are anticipating Christmas presents.

Elias Rodriguez, with public affairs at the Brownsville International Bridge, says CBP officers will determine whether or not presents are allowed to enter the United States.
