CBP Officers Seize $130K in Marijuana at Pharr Bridge
PHARR – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Pharr International Bridge discovered 655 pounds of marijuana within a commercial trailer.
The seizure happened on May 27 when officers encountered a white 2000 Freightliner tractor trailer.
The conveyance was referred for a second inspection. Officers utilized a non-intrusive imaging (NII) system to locate the narcotics.
They extracted 57 packages containing the drug comingled within a shipment of jalapeños.
CBP seized the drugs valued at $130,953. The case remains under investigation by Homeland Security Investigations special agents.
