ALTON – The city of Alton is cleaning up abandoned homes.

Last week, the city commission voted to use funds to demolish four structures in Alton – this includes homes that are falling apart.  

Alton Police Chief Jonathan Flores says these structures could be the site of illegal activity.

He says if anyone notices suspicious activity at an abandoned structure, they should call the local police department.
