County Official Explains Steps Made to Ensure Animal Neglect Claims are Processed
ELSA – A woman may face possible penalties following reports of animal neglect in her property.
A Hidalgo County Justice of the Peace judge says a claim of animal neglect has to be processed before the owner can face charges.
He says in the Elsa case, the owner has two weeks to provide proof they purchased 90 days’ worth of food and at least one transaction of a veterinarian visiting the animal.
KRGV’s Carolina Cruz has more on the steps law enforcement takes in these types of cases.
