Fire Hydrant near Weslaco Man’s Home Replaced

WESLACO - A Weslaco man said he feels at ease knowing the city replaced a fire hydrant near his home.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS reported how fire hydrants throughout the city were being flagged for repairs.

Weslaco Fire Department Chief Antonio Lopez said it usually takes about three to four months to inspect all 2,000 hydrants every year.

Resident Mike Hinojosa said a nearby hydrant was flagged making him feel unsafe and concerned for his neighbors.

Hinojosa said the hydrant was replaced and is ready for use.
