SAN CARLOS - Authorities in the San Carlos area are investigating how a toddler fell from a car.

The incident happened Monday afternoon in the neighborhood of 83^rd Street and Mile 17 1/2, east of Edinburg.

DPS said the victim is a 2-year-old who fell off a Ford Expedition around 1:30 p.m. They said the girl’s mother was driving.

According to DPS, the child sustained major injuries.
