WESLACO – A Rio Grande Valley man says he’s stuck having to save money to repair his vehicle after a hit-and-run.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS will refer to the man as Bruce because he chose to keep his identity hidden for his safety.

He says he’s worried about retaliation from the people responsible for damaging his vehicle.

Bruce claims an unsecured load from a semi-truck cracked and chipped his windshield.

He says it’ll probably cost him around $6,000 to repair it.

KRGV’s Angelo Vargas learned under the Texas Transportation Code, someone found guilty of having an unsecured load, which is a misdemeanor, could pay more than $500 in fines.
