Mission Passes Temporary Paid Leave Policy for Firefighters
MISSION – Relief is on the way for men and women who risk their lives battling fires in the city of Mission.
City leaders passed a policy which will offer temporary paid leave for firefighters.
The purpose of the policy sprung up when a fellow firefighter, Homer Salinas, who was diagnosed with kidney cancer was forced to use his vacation time and sick leave to cover his absence.
