Multiple Agencies Responding to Brush Fire near Linn-San Manuel
NEAR LINN-SAN MANUEL – Multiple agencies are responding to a brush fire south of the Linn-San Manuel area.
The Linn- San Manuel Volunteer Fire Department, the Pharr Fire Department, the San Juan Fire Department, the Edinburg Fire Department and Fish and Wildlife Service crews are working near El Rucio Road and U.S. 281 to control the blaze.
According to Edinburg Fire Chief Shawn Snider, it has burned about 70 acres.
It’s unknown if any surrounding structures have been damaged.
The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office says the southbound lanes of U.S. 281 are closed and drivers are being diverted.
