WESLACO- A new neighborhood sweep program is proving successful in some Weslaco neighborhoods.

Trash bins were set up by code enforcement on select streets last month.

Officials say they're a place to get rid of unwanted furniture and appliances.

"On Friday, actually it was kind of busy," said Jesse Ramos, a Weslaco resident.

"You could see one of our dumpsters actually already full."

Residents who'd like to see bins come to their neighborhood are encouraged to call the city and ask for code enforcement.
