Nevada's Drew MWC Basketball Player of Week; 27 point ave.
RENO, Nev. (AP) - Nevada's Lindsey Drew has been named the Mountain West Conference's basketball player of the week after averaging 27 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists in the Wolf Pack's first two games of the season.
Drew scored a career-high 30 points in Nevada's 79-74 loss to Utah in the opener last Tuesday, his first regular season game since he ruptured his Achilles in February 2018.
The senior guard made 12-of-19 field goal attempts and 5-of-9 from three-point range - both career bests. He just missed a double-double, pulling down nine rebounds.
Drew's previous career high was 17 points. He also scored a game-high 24 points to lead Nevada to a 72-67 victory over Loyola Marymount of Chicago Saturday night.
Nevada (1-1) hosts Texas Arlington Tuesday night and USC Saturday night.
