New Joint Task Force to Target Fugitives from Both Sides of Border

BROWNSVILLE – Local and Mexican authorities are teaming up to crack down on wanted fugitives.

On Monday, the new director of public safety in Matamoros and the Cameron County district attorney, Luis Saenz, marked the beginning of a joint task force that will target border crossings.

“It’s very important for us here. Bottom line, security here in Brownsville is security in Matamoros,” he says.

KRGV’s Sierra Pizarro spoke with a man who says it’s needed.
