WESLACO – Harvey’s impact on the Gulf coast may affect mail deliveries.

United States Postal Service Houston district manager David Camp announced Monday all retail and delivery operations in the area are suspended. This includes drop shipments and mail acceptance for the time being.

The halt means packages traveling to and from the Houston area may take longer to arrive due to re-routing.

Camp said he wanted to ensure mail in postal offices throughout the Houston area is secure and safe.

Mail services will be restored as conditions improve. Customers can call 800-275-8777 for more information.
