MCALLEN – Space is now limited at a McAllen respite center where immigrants are being released from federal custody.

Volunteers at Catholic Charities are trying to help migrants take care of basic needs, before they head out, in a small office space that now only has standing room available.

A coordinator for the respite center says they're moving shuttles from McAllen to the Basilica to free up some space.

They say they’re filling up with about 150 people per day.

KRGV’s Christian Von Preysing reports from the McAllen bus station, the final take-off point for many immigrants.
