PALMVIEW - A stalled construction project next to a La Joya ISD school continues to frustrate nearby homeowners.

Residents and people who work near E.B. Reyna Elementary School are looking for progress; Maria Salgado says that’s not happening.

Salgado has to take a detour every day to get to the home she helps take care of, and the street she would normally use has a giant hole right in the middle of it.

She’s worried with rain headed their way the mountain of dirt is going to cause even more problems.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS reached out to the construction company working this project, but no one answered.

The school district says the designated pick up and drop off zones along with extra officers directing traffic are working well.
