Starr County surpasses 1,000 confirmed coronavirus cases
Health officials in Starr County reported on Wednesday 69 additional coronavirus cases — making its total number of confirmed cases to 1,005.
According to Dr. Jose Vazquez, the Starr County health authority, about 12 people were admitted to Starr County Memorial Hospital on Wednesday with COVID-19. Three people are intubated. Five ventilators are in use leaving just four left.
Currently, there are 739 known active virus cases in Starr County. Of the total number of people who have been infected in the county, 262 have reportedly recovered. Four coronavirus-related deaths are confirmed in the county, 14 deaths are pending confirmation.
