State Park Officials Want to Preserve RGV History

MISSION – Officials at a state park in Mission are concerned about preserving a part of Rio Grande Valley history.

The Department of Homeland security wants to build a 9,000-foot wall through Bentsen State Park.

KRGV’s Christian von Preysing made a visit to the Museum of South Texas History in Edinburg to find out more about the history.  

An anthropology professor at the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley, Russell Skowronek, says federal projects need to comply with environmental and historical preservation requirements.  

Texas Parks and Wildlife explains there could be important objects hidden underground.
