WESLACO – Students enrolling for summer college courses may be eligible for additional funds.

The Federal Pell Grant is awarded to undergraduate students who meet certain financial criteria.

The grant was only offered during the school year in previous years.

A policy change for a year-round Pell Grant was announced last year, meaning this year will be the first summer students will benefit from summer Federal Pell Grant funds.

The U.S. Secretary of Education says the funds will help students graduate more quickly and with less debt.
