MCALLEN – Police say the 21-year-old involved in a burglary and failed escape in McAllen was charged Tuesday.

According to a press release issued out Monday, it all started when a burglary victim found his home ransacked.

The McAllen Police Department says the victim followed the suspect to the 1100 block of North 29th Street where officers also located a white late-model Corvette he was driving.

Police say once they approached the vehicle, Alec Bryce Adame sped toward them forcing an officer to open fire. After losing sight of the car, they decided to end the pursuit.

At around 4:40 p.m., Edinburg police spotted the vehicle near the 3300 block of North Christopher Lane but didn’t find Adame.

He was later located and arrested by McAllen police.

No injuries were reported.

Adame is facing criminal attempt, burglary of habitation and evading arrest charges.
