REYNOSA – State police across the border are rolling out new armored trucks to fight organized crime.

The Tamaulipas State Police purchased five “sand cat” trucks.

Officials said the vehicles have night vision, thermal cameras and rotating turrets for the police officer on top.

The trucks will form new units for special missions and intelligence gathering.

Four of the units will go to assist state police in various parts of the state.

The fifth will be used by the state’s justice department.
