WESLACO – U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is increasing the cost of work permits.

The processing fee to petition non-immigrant workers and alien workers will increase by more than $200.

The agency says they are making this change because there’s been a higher demand for immigration benefits.

This increase goes into effect on Oct. 1.
