Valley Business Benefiting from Reopening of Detention Center
RAYMONDVILLE – A Rio Grande Valley detention center is in search of workers.
Last Week, Management and Training Corporation reopened El Valle Detention Center.
One company is taking advantage of the need and seeing an increase in revenue as a result.
"We will be providing fiber internet access to them. We are looking at other opportunities like surveillance and other opportunities,” says Raymondville sales manager Noel Turner.
KRGV’s Frank McCaffrey reached out to MTC to see if other small businesses could benefit from this as well.
MTC's Vice President for Corrections says the general contractor they selected is hiring concrete workers, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, drywall workers and painters.
