SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – Sand castles at South Padre Island which were vandalized in March are now being rebuilt.

Four men were suspected of damaging the sand castles and stealing a South Padre Island flag over spring break.

The city’s insurance is covering the cost of the damages, which is estimated at $24,000.
