EDINBURG – Police said a cyclist is recovering in a hospital after being involved in an accident with a school bus.

The incident happened at the intersection of Joe Ochoa Street and West University Drive Monday afternoon.

Police said the woman was biking across the street when she was hit.

Officials said the cyclist sustained serious injuries and was suspected to have broken legs after the bus allegedly ran over her.

Police said the cyclist was in the crosswalk but is investigating whether she or the bus had the right of way.
