Brownsville Resident Frustrated with Construction on Highway 281
BROWNSVILLE – A Brownsville man is demanding a state agency finish construction on Highway 281.
Norm Rourke says Texas Department of Transportation’s highway expansion project is becoming increasingly dangerous.
He tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS he doesn’t understand why the road is still reduced to only two lanes if it’s already paved on both sides.
KRGV’s Daisy Martinez met with TxDOT spokesperson Octavio Saenz to talk about the project.
He says some anomalies appeared in certain parts of the road but crews are working to resolves those issues and finalize construction as soon as the end of the month.
