Firefighters battling brush fire near Mission animal shelter

The Mission Fire Department is battling a Thursday brush fire near the RGV Humane Society, according to a Facebook post from the city.
The Thursday evening brush fire is on South Conway Avenue and Abelino Farias Street near the animal shelter.
“We would like to assure the public that the pets at the RGV Humane Society at Mission are safe and doing well,” the city stated on Facebook.
No injuries or structure damages were reported.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
