Man Charged in Former Marine Murder Case

EDINBURG – A Raymondville man is facing charges in connection to the death of a former Marine.
Authorities discovered the remains of Nora Villalobos in a canal near Delta Lake in May.
Juan Manuel Tobias is charged with capital murder and aggravated kidnapping. He was formally indicted on Nov. 2.
On Friday he appeared in a Hidalgo County court for an arraignment hearing.
The Hidalgo County District Attorney’s Office said prosecutors are determining if they’ll seek the death penalty in the case.
