Mexican Officials Seize Thousands of Pounds in Tobacco and Whiskey in Matamoros
BROWNSVILLE – Mexican government officials found a trailer load of whiskey trying to be smuggled into the U.S.
The trailer was found south of the Brownsville port-of-entry in Matamoros, Tamaulipas.
More than 10,000 bottles of whiskey were found in the 18-wheeler.
Authorities also seized more than 24,000 pounds of tobacco products.
In total, the contraband has a street value of more than $209,000.
