Power Companies Asking Customers to Conserve Energy
MCALLEN – Rio Grande Valley power companies are asking customers to conserve energy.
They say preventing high power usage during hot summer days could rule out the risk of forced blackouts.
The owner of Shipley Do-Nuts, David Duff, says on Thursday, their Mission location lost power for five hours during prime baking time.
KRGV’s Taylor Winkel has more on why local companies created conservation programs in response to a warning from the Electric Reliability Council of Texas.
