60 in Custody after Border Patrol Raids 2 Stash Houses
RIO GRANDE CITY – Border Patrol agents apprehended 60 people in the U.S. illegally in two separate incidents over the weekend.
On Saturday, Feb. 10, agents assisted local law enforcement in a welfare check at a home in Rio Grande City. Inside, they found 35 people in the country illegally from Mexico and Guatemala.
The day after, Border Patrol received a suspicious activity call.
After locating the residence, agents discovered 25 people in the country illegally from Mexico, Guatemala and Brazil.
Homeland Security Investigations arrested one person in connection to the Sunday, Feb. 11 incident.
No additional details have been released.
The investigation is ongoing.
