BROWNSVILLE – The property tax deadline has been extended to Monday, July 2.

Cameron County Tax Assessor-Collector Tony Yzaguirre says more than 27,000 property owners owe money.

All offices in the county will be open to help people pay either their taxes in full or make payment arrangements.

Those who don’t pay or make a payment plan by Monday will have to pay an additional 15 percent delinquent fee and could face legal consequences.
