UPDATE: Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino Jr. has ordered the re-opening of Isla Blanca Park and Andie Bowie Park on South Padre Island by 9 a.m. 

Beach Accesses 3, 4, 5, 6 and Boca Chica Beach will be open by 10 a.m.

BROWNSVILLE – Cameron County will be closing several beaches starting Thursday.

County judge Eddie Trevino said the closure is due to high tides predicted to be caused by Tropical Depression Harvey.

The county is closing County Beach Access 3, 4, 5, 6 and Boca Chica Beach.

The beaches will be closed to foot and vehicle traffic.

At the moment, Isla Blanca Park and Andy Bowie Park will remain open until further notice.
