A grass fire near Monte Alto burned through more than 22 acres before crews contained it, according to the Elsa Fire Department.

The Elsa Fire Department got the call around 1:30 p.m. for a grass fire near Jesus Flores and Nittler roads. Multiple fire crews responded to the scene.

The fire burned through over 22 acres before crews contained it.

"No properties were ever in danger at any point. The southeastern winds pushed the fire really rapidly, but luckily with our partners, we were able to help and put out the fire," Elsa Assistant Fire Chief Jonathan Lopez said.

No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.
