DPS Says Alamo Man Arrested for Human Smuggling During Traffic Stop
WESLACO – The Texas Department of Public Safety arrested a 32-year-old on human smuggling charges in Hidalgo County.
On Tuesday, a state trooper stopped the driver for a traffic violation on US 281 north of San Manuel.
The agency says a man in the country illegally was found sealed inside the factory floor compartment with no air ventilation and no way to get out.
The driver, Abran Villobobos, of Alamo, was arrested on charges of smuggling of persons with likelihood serious of bodily injury or death.
The undocumented individual is in custody of Border Patrol.
