WESLACO – A woman accused of intentionally hitting another woman with her car is behind bars.

Mariah Nicole Garcia, 21, was charged Tuesday with aggravated assault with serious bodily injury. 

Hidalgo County Sheriff’s deputies said Garcia struck a woman on Mi Tierra Drive, north of Weslaco.

Sheriff’s investigators said Garcia implicated herself as the driver.

The victim is hospitalized and in stable condition.

Garcia is being held on a $50,000 bond.
