EDINBURG – Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District students are hoping the rain this week doesn’t mean more flooding at their school.

Edinburg CISD parent Janie Trevino says the flooding at Edinburg North High School damaged her niece’s car in September after she returned from a volleyball game.

“Only to find that her car was basically underwater, flooded,” she says. “You could hear the water actually swishing around the vehicle.”

She says the flooding occurred again last week. She says her son and other students had to walk through water up to their shins.

KRGV’s Christian von Preysing reached out to the school district and to the city of Edinburg.

Edinburg CISD says no obstruction in the drainage pipes was found over the weekend.  However, they have a plan in place if more flooding happens.
