McALLEN - Six Valley football unbeatens stayed perfect through seven weeks of the 2017 season, and one of the area's winless teams was able to taste victory for the first time when the final scores went in the books late Friday night.  The CHANNEL 5 "Game of the Week" matched McAllen Memorial against McAllen in 30-6A.  The Mustangs hit double nickels, 55 points, in rolling past McAllen 55-21.  Memorial now leads 30-6A with a 3-0 district mark.

The winning unbeaten teams were San Benito, 49-21, over Rivera.  Vela shutout PSJA Southwest 53-0.  PSJA won on Thursday.  Mission Veterans won a battle for the lead in 31-5A.  The Patriots smacked Nixon 48-17.  Lopez won on Thursday.  Raymondville improved to 6-0 with a road win at West Oso 38-10.

Donna North won for the first time over winless Porter 38-21.
