HARLINGEN – A Harlingen man is charged with capital murder in connection to the death of a 2-year-old girl.

Autopsy results generated new leads which eventually brought authorities to 29-year-old Jorge Abundiz.

Last April, police responded to a call of an unresponsive child on the 1800 block of South 3rd Street.

She was taken to a hospital where she later died.
