Judge Declares Mission Mayoral Election Results Invalid
MCALLEN – The results of the June runoff election in Mission was declared invalid by a visiting judge.
Judge J Bonner-Dorsey ruled the race invalid Friday morning after finding that the current mayor’s campaign engaged in a conspiracy to bribe voters and manipulate mail-in ballots.
The weeks-long trial began after Beto Salinas, the former mayor of Mission, challenged the result of the June election.
The lawsuit alleged 158 votes were illegally cast during the election in favor of Armando O'Cana.
